Point your camera at the barcode on a package.
Take a photo of your food. A small food-recognition model runs on your phone. It names the food, and you set the portion.
Photograph the Nutrition Facts panel straight on, in good light, filling the frame. The text is read on your phone.
Search uses a built-in copy of USDA FoodData Central (about 440,000 foods). Each search downloads only the small pieces it needs and keeps them. To search with no connection at all, save the whole thing on this phone (on Wi-Fi).
Readings outside your range are marked in the tracker. Use the range your care team gave you.
The food-recognition model is about 23 MB and downloads the first time you use Photo. Download it now on Wi-Fi if you like.
On iPhone: Share, then Add to Home Screen. On Android: the browser menu, then Install app or Add to Home screen. It then opens like a regular app.
Your logs, readings, doses and saved foods stay on this device only. Nothing is sent anywhere; barcodes that aren't in the built-in database are checked with Open Food Facts. Export the tracker now and then as a backup.
